Conception of the “Gastronomic Geography” segment
Core objective
To create an interdisciplinary platform that integrates science, education, and culture through gastronomy, transforming food into a pedagogical resource and a vehicle for transmitting identity, values, and knowledge.
Pedagogical and scientific significance
Ethnopedagogy and cultural transmission:
to show how family and community culinary practices are forms of informal education—how teaching takes place within communities, and how skills and values are passed down from generation to generation.
Interdisciplinarity:
connections to geography (origin of ingredients, seasonality), history (evolution of recipes), sociology (rituals around the table), health (nutrition, food accessibility), and inclusion (food as a universal language).
Practical skills for students:
didactic communication (explaining a dish clearly), teamwork, space and time management, public presentation, digital content production.
Integration with other rubrics of the conference
- Intercultural experience: increased awareness of cultural diversity among students and faculty.
- Digital pedagogical archive: a collection of recipes, stories, and videos for use in subjects such as geography, history, sociology, and intercultural education.
- Local and international institutional partnerships: strengthening relations with diplomatic missions, educational institutions, and cultural and gastronomic centers.
- Inclusion and accessibility: an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to experience different cultures in a tangible and sensory way.

Expected results
With “Sabe? Ensine!” (“You Know It? Teach It!”): the hosts can record a short video explaining the dish—this way, the audiovisual production serves both segments.
